Is the water you're drinking safe!! Posted by Picasa
Seventy percent(70%) of the human body is composed of water. It is one of the most critical components of human life. Every moment of every day, our bodies use water to perform some task necessary to sustain our lives. Becoming thirsty is nothing more than our body asking us to replace water that it has used keeping us alive. Unfortunatley, most of us drink sodas, coffee, bottled fruit juices, sports drinks, iced teas, powdered drink mixes, or other "non-water; drinks when we get thirsty.

While these drinks TASTE great-they are NOT neccessarily the BEST for you. In fact, many of these drinks are diuretics and can actually flush water from your body. Many of these beverages are full of sugar, artificial colors and flavors, caffeine, and other unhealthy substances. The obvious nest step, then, would be to drink bottled water. Any quick trip to the store will reveal literally dozens of different brands of glacier, spring, artesian well, or filtered water. But we are learning that many of these "natural" waters are really just tap water with a fancy label-with costs that can often exceed more per gallon that gasoline!!!

The simple fact is, that our bodies need water-fresh, clean, natural water. Through sweat, breathing, and various excretory functions, our bodies lose almost 3 liters of water each day...and those double mocha lattes are NOT going to replace....

Ideally, you should drink at least eight-8oz glasses of water daily-some people may in fact need more. Individuals who don't drink enough water almost always find themselves suffering from chronic dehydration. The symptoms of chronic dehydration may include:

joint discomfort obesity

breathing difficulties impotence

digestive problems headaches

neck discomfort stress

sinus problems heartburn

depression sleep disorders

...as well as many other ailments.

For more information on chronic dehydration read "Your Body's Many Cries for Water," by: Dr. F. Batmanghelkdj. According to Dr. "B," the simple process of rehydration may lessen or even alleviate some or all of these problems.

So why not just turn the tap and start drinking? That would be a good plan...Except... that depending on where you live, your tap water MAY contain..

Lead; Copper; Nitrates; Hydrogen; Sulfide; Nitrites; Iron; Manganese; Arsenic; PCB's(Polychlorinated biphenyls); Radon; THM's( Trihalomethanes)
; Sulfates.

Public water is almost always free of bacterial and vral contamination-however, when it's not, we generally find out after it is too late. Of course, well water is often rich in minerals, but may also contain pesticide, herbicede, or fertilizer runoff, or other contaminants that have worked their way into the water table. And what about the things that are PURPOSELY added to our water like ammonia, chlorine, and fluoride?

The good news about fluoride is that it can promote healthy teeth. The not-so-good news about fluoride is that it is a potent carcinogen as well as a powerful leach of calcium from the human body. Chloring, which is one of the most COMMON water additives, has helped to eradicate typhoid. However, in the book, "Coronaries/Cholesterol/Chlorine," Dr. J. Price lays out a case for chlorine contributing to the substantial increase in heart disease.

PIMAG Flip-Top Water Bottle goes with me everywhere I go. Water for everyone everwhere. What an awesome invention. I Just add cold refrigerated water and go. 7 -8 of these a day are enough to get your daily allowance of water. I keep one next to my bed, because we go without water for 7to8 hours while sleeping so I'ts best to hydrate right when you wake up. The cap is leakproof, so I can carry it in my bookback without worry of a spill. The permanent drinking straw makes it even easier to use. The straw retracts into the cap when not in use, to keep the drinking surface clean. Added to the filter are these wonderful energizing minerals and calcium is also added. The filter filters out chlorine so you don't get that funny taste or that funny smell of chlorine. I am so glad to have one; You should order one too....
